tidy nest home organization
Today I had my first organizing session with Caryn and it was amazing.
SHE is amazing! Our project is my dreaded basement - the pit that holds everything I couldn't part with when we moved here 5 years ago from California, plus everything we've collected since between a remodel and two kids and life...which is a lot. I've been feeling so overwhelmed by the amount of STUFF in my life and I'm finally ready to get rid of everything that's not serving me. My husband has agreed that it's time to stop being a packrat, saving all sorts of (let's be honest) crap for "just in case." So there's a ton of stuff down there. We took the time to organize it at some point but, life happens, and now we just chuck things down the stairs and close the door.
ICaryn is the perfect person to sit with you while you go through your past lives and decide what to keep and what to part with - she has a keen awareness of when you've hesitated a second more than normal (which denotes it's time to let it go); not only does she not guilt you for keeping things you must, she encourages you to keep things that are truly precious while gently helping you let go of any redundancies that might exist. Two hours later, I had 10 boxes of stuff to donate. TEN! Not to mention, two large bags of trash and recycling taken outside and disposed of.
Caryn is disciplined and not easily distracted. After our session, she contacted me that night to schedule the next one.
If you've got any type of organizational project that you need help approaching, I highly recommend Caryn. One session with her and my life already feels more spacious and I feel relieved to have unloaded the burden of stuff.

I could not have let go of all the stuff in my basement - let alone organize it - if it had not been for Caryn's unique ability to serve as both witness and guide. Her ability to hold the space and hear my stories --about each artifact-- is what enabled me to make those tough decisions about what to keep (and where) and what to release (and how). I now have a space that is ready for its (and my) new life.

Hiring Caryn was one of the best things I've done for myself and my family. My clutter and disorganized closets felt completely overwhelming, embarrassing, and hopeless, but having her help allowed me to see how it is possible and sustainable to tackle clutter and organize my space. I truly believe our physical space reflects our mental state, and life just feels more calm and put together now that we have organized closets and cabinets.

Caryn is a miracle-worker! In the eight hours she has spent at our house over the past few weeks, she has made monumental strides in organizing our home. And she is a delight to work with -- she has a great attitude, works so hard, and does not judge. She has improved our quality of life immensely, especially by helping with our entry way and countertops. I highly recommend Tidy Nest!
I cant say enough good things about my experience with TIDY NEST. Caryn's intuitive, practical, efficient and inspiring approach to organizing and space-making has made a huge in my home and my life! Spaces that had been bothering me gor years are now functioning at high capacity and making such good sense!

Caryn helped me so much. I had been stuck for a long time avoiding piles of stuff that had accumulated. She gently guided me and encouraged me and we got the job done! Something unique about Caryn's help was that she was attuned to my anxiety and was able to adjust her approach as she sensed the kind of energy that would soothe my feelings about cleaning up. She was willing to be very active and hands-on at some points but was also willing to be a peaceful calm in the storm, giving me motivation and words of support. She inspired me and even made it fun. She clearly loves helping people in this way.

I can't thank you enough for your services as Tidy Nest. For the first time in over 14 years, two cars are in my garage. I was terrified at the thought of getting it all organized. I just couldn't begin to consider it.I must admit that I felt guilty when you told me to sit in my chair while you started at one end, bringing stuff to me to say "keep, recycle, trash, donate." You really eased my trepidation and waited patiently while I decided what to do with some of the difficult items; even letting me hold on to some until the next session to make a decision. I was so amazed at your ability to instinctively know when I hesitated about something that I quietly wanted to keep just as I was about to toss it. I have absolutely no regrets about any decision I made.
And, then the basement! Again, we started in one corner and you moved around the room while I sat in my chair. Your easy, confident, relaxed manner allowed us to expediently organize more than 30 years of accumulated stuff. I can't tell you how much I appreciate the lifting, schlepping and reorganizing you have done.
You worked so quickly and yet I never felt rushed. I never felt pushed. You respected my space and you honored my possessions. You are a miracle.

Caryn understands the emotional component that underlies why it may be difficult to tackle an overwhelming home project. It can be hard to ask someone to come into your home and help you deal with that, but Caryn has the perfect temperament for this work! She is compassionate, patient and kind as well as capable, creative and professional. If you need help with an organizing project, I highly recommend Caryn. If you want your whole home to feel good, useful and beautiful, and don't know where to start, OR are avoiding certain areas that have become "dumping grounds" that you dread and avoid- Caryn is a great ally to transform this process! You will be so relieved.
